While this doesn't sound very polite - this IS the way to say hello. Polite or not, Klingons get to the point fast. You need to get used to this fast, or you will have many problems with Klingons.

Qapla!

(kop-lah. lit. Success!

You might also say yIrojqu', peace! (yi-rohj-koo). On the other hand, this isn't likely a common phrase for Klingons to use. Don't be surprised if they take offense.

Another phrase might be jIyajbe', I don't understand (ji-yaj-beh).

(dock yi-mej. lit. Go Now!)

tlhIngan jIHbe'

(tuhlingahn jik-be'. lit. I am not a Klingon!)
 OR, if you ARE a Klingon you would say tlhIngan jIH (tuhlingahn jik)
